Welcome!

Shannon Feetham

Hi! I’m Shannon.

Welcome to the little corner of the internet that I now proclaim my own. This blog fuses my love of writing and my fascination with the world of science. Through my posts I convey the message of beauty and wellness, and the deeper-layer workings of them. There is a science of beauty, an art to staying well, and a fine balance between the two.

Here you will find content spanning from skincare to wellness to beauty from the inside out. I am of the view that timeless beauty is inexorably related to overall health and vitality. Beauty is more than just the products you slap on your face or the amount of money you invest in your beauty regimen. And health is more than just the absence of a flu, the number on the scale, or the diet you are trying to follow. People often try to attribute their health or beauty to one product or a specific new diet when in reality the body is far more intricate than we give it credit for.

While some articles on this blog are written from my own personal perspective and experiences, I do my best to make sure that the informational content I produce is well-researched and evidence based. When approaching certain topics such as health and often skincare, it is important to me that I incorporate some evidence-backed information and present the facts in a way that gives my reader the opportunity to form their own opinions. As a woman in STEM (with a background in mathematics, science and engineering), I appreciate information that has some scientific backing, rather than relying on pseudoscience or purely word of mouth.

After having struggled with my own health and severe skin issues, where countless hours in the offices of different specialists were proving unfruitful, I found greater results in taking my health into my own hands. I have done a great deal of work, research, trial and error along my journey and I hope there is some value to be amassed from sharing my findings and experiences in my posts. I do my best to synthesise the data and present you the information in one place, in a more concise, comprehendible way so that you can apply it in your life, and to your beauty routine.

Because of my background, I am fortunate enough to have a deeper scientific and biochemical-level grasp on health and skin-related topics. Rather than simply being told what to do without explanation, I like to first understand the reasoning before applying it to health and beauty. In my approach to wellness, I maintain that every aspect of the body is connected. I uphold a holistic perspective to the whole body, and believe there is value in considering matters of the soul, mind and spirit when it comes to overall wellness. There is still a place for certain things that science has not yet been able to fully explain, and the mind and spirit play a crucial role.

More than merely putting out content, it is my hope that this blog will be used as a resource for information, to help others improve and grow, just as I am constantly striving to grow. And I hope that it will empower you to take charge and cultivate the outcomes you desire for yourself. Whether it is showing up in the world confidently and unapologetically as yourself, improving your skin, making yourself feel more powerful just by applying a little makeup, growing your mindset or working on your overall being.

While I am a die-hard makeup and skincare enthusiast, and will undoubtedly write many beauty related articles, I do not limit myself or my posts to surface-level beauty. Everything begins on a cellular level, and there is an art in preserving balance. It is imperative to also work on yourself from the inside – mind, body and spirit – rather than focusing merely on what is skin-deep and superficial. Beauty and wellness are so much more than what is seen on the surface. A heart and soul full of pure intention will radiate beauty before a face plastered in thousands worth of makeup and products.

Wishing you boundless love, endless light, and life without limit,

Shannon xo
